Timisoara Saracens travel to Bucharest for the second round of the 2019/20 SuperLiga championship

The domestic championship continues for the Saracens Lions with an away round against Dinamo Bucharest

Last Saturday, on home ground Timisoara Saracens has pinned a bonus point win in the first round of the SuperLiga CEC Bank, against CS Universitatea Cluj, with a final score of 54 to 18 in favour of the Lions. So, for the second round of the championship, the team will travel to Bucharest, to meet CS Dinamo Bucharest.

“This match will be a very good test for us, physically. We know how Dinamo is, physically speaking, they are a very tough team, especially playing them at home and from our past experiences and games we don’t play well when we’re away, especially in Bucharest. So it will be a good chance for us to make sure we fix that, so we can improve and focus on our game and our go forward for this week. It will be a very tough game for our forwards, I think we need to be really strong up front, so that we can get some momentum and get the ball to our backs for them to attack. But we still have a few days to make sure we get our preparation right and with the travel on Thursday, the boys can recover and be physically and mentally ready for Saturday.” (Sosene Anesi, Head Coach)

“We had an intense training session today, with our forwards, to prepare the tough upcoming game, given that Dinamo is a physical team, especially when they play at home, like Sosene said and we want to be well prepared for the first away round of the championship. We intend to have a good performance and improve the performance of our forwards.” (Ulises Gamboa, Forwards Coach)

“Dinamo is a team with very good forwards and we will need to whip up and get clean balls for our backs. I am sure we will have more pressure on our forwards than we’ve had on the first round, especially as we will play away, but we will welcome the challenge, as it will help us improve for the upcoming matches as well.” (Eugen Căpățînă, team captain).

This round, Stephen Shennan will return to the pitch and for the newly signed Damian Strătilă, it will be his first appearance in the black and red jersey.

„What’s good for us is that almost all players are fit for selection and they all put a hand up for the starting fifteen. It is hard for me and for Ulises to choose the starting fifteen and the bench, but it’s good for the team and for the club. Shennan and Strătilă are up for selection this week. We want to give them some game time, but in the same time we need to have some continuity with our results, so it will be hard to choose, as we also have to manage our players well, so they can last for the whole season.” (Sosene Anesi, Head Coach)

The second round of the 2019/20 SuperLiga CEC Bank against Dinamo Bucharest will kick off this Saturday, September 7th 2019, on “Florea Dumitrache” Stadium in Bucharest, from 12:30 pm and it will be broadcasted live on www.rugbytv.ro
